Kitchen Rahsia! The
uniqueness name of the restaurant that makes my mind think about the view, the
location, the food itself of the restaurant was different from the other
restaurant. It may be situated far from the housing area and may be their have
their own recipe. But, my first impression is wrongful. The restaurant actually
looks like a simple restaurant that situated near to the housing area, and the
food of the restaurant itself have no different with other restaurant that
provide western food. However, this restaurant also has their own uniqueness
that they serve to the customer.
Kitchen Rahsia was a unique
restaurant in Terengganu that provided western food to customer. The name of
the restaurant has given by the owner of the restaurant itself. The restaurant is located at Batu Buruk,
Kuala Terengganu. It is near to the beach, “Pantai Batu Buruk” within 200 Kilometers
and near to the city of Kuala Terengganu about 15 minutes from the Mydin Mall
and Giant to Kitchen Rahsia.
The restaurant was established
in 2012. At first, this restaurant just provides the local food to the guest
which is Mee bandung and some beverages. After 2 years, Kitchen Rahsia was
creating the new menu for their restaurant. At this time, western food was introducing
to the guest with the appropriate price. Operation hour of this restaurant was
start from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. but the kitchens are temporary shutdown between 7
p.m. to 8 p.m. for solat maghrib. Kitchen Rahsia was closed on every Thursday
and Friday.
The service of the
restaurant provides are a la carte style whereby people can order directly to
the server based on the menu card. The concept of the restaurant are very relax
where people can order the food, enjoy the food calmly, eat and relax and feel
the ambiance of the restaurant that away from the city that cause noisy and
enjoying the fresh air. It is because the restaurant is open air and they also
have smoking area for those who want smoke the cigarette after or before had
their meal.
On my recent visit of the
restaurant, the chef was prepared buffet style which is included appetizer, main
course, dessert and the beverages. For the appetizer, they have Caesar salad
that is made of the chicken chunks, salad, Caesar dressing, parmesan cheese and
croutons. For those who are on diet, you can buy and eat this salad. But they
also have other salad during a la carte. The price might be between RM 8 until
RM 15 per dish.
If you are a big noodle fan, you will enjoy
the dishes at Kitchen Rahsia, which offers some tasty delights Chinese style.
Kitchen Rahsia is famous for its Nyonya laksa noodle, steaks and Pasta. It is
because of the price are affordable to buy. For you who want taste the original
Nyonya Laksa noodle in Terenganu, you can visit Kitchen Rahsia and taste the
delicious noodle by the chef of the restaurant. Chef Muhammad Taufik says, the Nyonya Laksa noodle is slightly
different from the other restaurant who make the same noodle in
Terengganu. “It’s an original recipe. We
use a favorable broth of fresh and dried prawns, cockles and fish ball. It is
added ginger flower, dried tamarind to give more flavorful and taste a little
bit sour that come out from the tamarind of the gravy. ”
What’s interesting is that
Kitchen Rahsia serves its food in pot and put on the stove to make food become
longer hot. It is believes to enhance the flavor of the dishes.
My favorite dishes at this
restaurant is Nyonya Laksa noodle because the tangy and mildly spicy flavor of
the gravy. The tasty of dried prawn and ginger flower surely make diners very
happy and meaningful! But, instead the
tasty dishes of the gravy, it is become spoil because the gravy too oily.
However, the flavorful of the Nyonya Laksa noodle gets my vote for its tasty
awesome. If you wish Johor dishes, you have to taste Mee Bandung (RM 7) from
the kitchen Rahsia restaurant.
Besides that, other main
courses provided is sliced beef with brown sauce and breaded chicken with
stuffing. If you are beef lover, you can taste this food. The beef was cooked
well done and have nice seasoning when marinated.
For dessert, they prepared
the chocolate brownies. This is the delicious cake that I never taste before.
The cake taste very different with other, because they put chopped Cadbury
inside the dough and give flavorful after baking. The taste of cake was nice,
sweet and tender. But, what the pity,
the dessert that I had for the food review was not having in the actual
menu. But, you can request to the chef
if they can serve to you or you can give some advice to them to provide dessert
cake for the future.
The specialty beverage that
the restaurant makes for us is ‘driver lorry’. The ingredient that they use to
make this water is lychee, grass jelly, and brown sugar. The taste was very
powerful. The executive chef, Muhammad
Taufik says, the name of the beverage was given by the driver lorry himself. You should try this beverage when you come to
have a dinner there.
However, the food that they
prepared for us was not obviously same in the menu card for a la carte menu.
But, the price of the food is affordable for those who want the different meal
and different taste. Besides, this
restaurant also provided catering for who want make a ceremony or any
celebration at the different menu with different prices.
Hence, for our buffet recent,
we need to pay about RM 25. That is includes appetizer, main courses, dessert
and some beverages. This is not disappointed me with the food that they
prepared because the food taste delicious and tasty. You should try the main course and the
dessert especially when you want having a relaxing time. The chocolate brownies
are the perfect dessert to end any meal with.
